Distance learning explained

The benefits of choosing online distance learning

An online distance learning masters degree gives you the freedom and flexibility to make university work for you. With over 20 years’ experience delivering high-quality distance learning masters courses, we design and develop in collaboration with employers and everything we do is guided by our Common Good values.

The distance learning approach to studying programmes hosted by the GCU London campus is designed to offer the maximum interaction with teaching staff while simultaneously giving you time to prepare work at your own pace. The delivery of your weekly classes will be different from those traditional lessons, which are physically on campus.

Students will have three hours of teacher contact per module each week. There will be a weekly live lecture or seminar, after which the student must complete a task to be posted on a discussion board. This is followed by a live tutorial which will complete the week. The pattern then repeats for the next week and the duration of the course.

Live sessions are referred to as 'synchronous' whereas any task that needs to be completed between sessions is referred to as 'asynchronous'.
