The health, safety and wellbeing of our students and staff will continue to be our highest priority and we are keeping in touch with all of our applicants and enquirers as more information becomes available. Please remain safe and we look forward to seeing you soon!

For more information, please expand the dropdown boxes below.

Start date

We have decided to start a little later than usual this year. Induction commences on Tuesday 29 September and teaching begins Monday 5 October.

Your application

The Admissions and Enquiry Service is continuing to process applications in the usual way. The team are all working remotely, you may find there is a slight delay in the response time while we all settle in to our new ways of working. Thank you for your patience.

On-campus events

Glasgow Caledonian University London takes the safety and wellbeing of our staff, students and visitors seriously. The unprecedented public health challenge around COVID-19 makes it impossible for us to continue with our plans towards running various on-campus events. On-campus events have either been postponed or cancelled.

Campus tours

We have postponed our campus tours for the next few months. Should you wish to visit us then please email events@gculondon.ac.uk to register your interest. We will then contact you when we are able to run campus tours again.

School, college or university closures impact

We are aware that a number of places are facing widespread school, college and university closures and affected students will be anxious about the impact this may have on their application. Glasgow Caledonian University London will support all its applicants in the best way that we can in order to get our applicants through the usual admissions process and we will continue to monitor the situation.

Entry qualifications

If you are waiting to take school or university qualifications in a country where the education system is closed, you may not know yet if you will be able to take your exams as planned. Glasgow Caledonian University London is aware that different systems across the world are at different stages and we will be flexible in assessing your eligibility. Please keep us informed about progress towards meeting the entry criteria.

Additional English language tests accepted during Covid-19

At GCU London we are aware the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in closure of English language test centres world-wide, and now with test centres starting to re-open across the world it may not be possible for everyone to visit these centres or get an available slot to attend. Therefore we are now temporarily accepting a range of alternatives to our current English Language requirements to allow a more flexible route for you to achieve your English language standard for entry to one of our courses.

GCU London will also continue to accept local equivalencies for English language, full information can be found here.

Temporary alternative options:

INTO English language preparatory courses and Pathway INTO programmes

Courses from June 2020

Online Pre-sessional English

We will be offering 8 and 12-week pre-sessional English courses online only from June to September 2020. Our pre-sessional courses are the best way to bring your English up to entry-level for university study. The courses are taught by our partner, INTO Glasgow Caledonian University and besides the IELTS test, DuoLingo, Pearson and Cambridge are all accepted.

Online Academic English

Our partner, INTO Glasgow Caledonian University, will be offering a 10-week online Academic English course over the summer, as an alternative to face to face provision. Academic English is designed to improve your English language skills to the level required to progress onto your university preparation course.

Courses from September 2020 onwards

We look forward to welcoming international students to the INTO GCU Study Centre on campus in September. We are continuing to monitor the global situation and are currently developing plans, which may include additional online courses, should global travel restrictions prevent you from being able to arrive on campus. For the latest information visit INTO's coronavirus webpage.

Visa centres

We are aware that visa centres have been closed for several weeks now in some countries. We hope that visa centres will reopen before students will need to apply for visas, but we will keep the situation under review. Please ensure that you check the GCU VISA pages for current Government updates, surrounding COVID-19 and other visa and immigration information.

Deposit payments

In the event a course is cancelled by the University, any deposit payments will be refunded. In the event that a course is postponed to another date then the deposit would remain unless an applicant cannot attend on the new date. In this circumstance, the deposit would be refunded.
